Everything that happens in the universe, from the creation of a new sun to your next thought, is pre-destined. That’s a scientific fact.
Scientists know that every particle in the universe obeys the laws of physics. There is no such thing as a particle that doesn’t obey the laws of physics. This includes the particles that make up your body and brain.
“Free will” is a scientific impossibility.
What we call “decisions” are just thoughts. For example “I’m going to eat some ice cream” or “I’m not going eat some ice cream”.
Thoughts are properties of the brain.
The brain is made of chemicals.
Chemicals ALWAYS obey the laws of chemistry (a sub-set of the laws of physics).
Therefore your decisions – every decision you’ve ever made and every decision you will ever make – are subject to the laws of chemistry.
This is also, of course, true for every decision ever made by every person in history. Hitler, Napoleon, Gandhi, your parents, your teachers, your boss – every decision was governed by the laws of chemistry and the laws of physics.
What are the implications of this knowledge?
It means that everything you’ve ever done HAD TO HAPPEN exactly the way it happened. Every thought, every decision, every action, was determined by the laws of physics.
It means that everything that will happen in the future will happen EXACTLY THE WAY IT HAS TO according to the laws of physics. This is immutable.
Can you take credit for anything you’ve done in the past if the ‘doing’ of it was the result of the laws of physics?
Can you feel guilty about anything you’ve done in the past if the ‘doing’ of it was the result of the laws of physics?
Should you worry about what might happen in the future if the ‘happening’ is already determined by the laws of physics?
BUT WAIT… some might think… what if make a decision that changes the course of events? Doesn’t that mean that the future is not pre-determined?
Alas… that decision you think you made was pre-determined by the laws of physics.
This is a scientific fact. This is immutable.
This understanding will set you free from anxiety, free from guilt, free from worry. This understanding will set you free from anger, free from hate, free from resentment. How can you be resentful of someone if their actions were 100% determined by the laws of physics?
BUT WAIT… some might think… what do I do now? If every decision, every action, I can make is determined by the laws of physics… what do I do now?
You do what you have to do. You do what you’ve always done (without knowing it). You fulfil the laws of physics. What choice do you have? The particles that make up your brain and your body will fulfil the laws of physics, just as they have always done. They have no choice – and neither do you.
This is immutable. This is scientific fact.
